October 21, 2015 is Back to The Future Day - Check Out these Costumes

Welcome to the Future! October 21, 2015 is the day that Doc Brown and Marty McFly visit in the future to stop Marty Jr. from going to jail. (Back to the Future II)

The movie, Back to the Future II came out in theaters in 1989. The movie made the future look so advanced and far ahead, that it was almost too hard to imagine what it would be like. For those in my generation that were alive to enjoy and be affected by the awe of a reality so futuristic, 2015 feels so disappointing in a way (when compared to the Back To The Future II 2015). It doesn't feel as though too much has changed to match Back To The Future II. We don't see the flying cars in the sky that was predicted in the movie or kids skating around in hover boards.

A quick Google search will show you that these things are in fact invented, they're just not part of every day life.

Back to the Future Doc Brown Costume
"Great Scott" When you hear the great names of scientists you think of Newton, Edison, Einstein, and Brown. The last one in that list is of course Dr. Emmett Brown, the creator of the Flux Capacitor. Now you may just be wondering what a Flux Capacitor is, it is what makes time travel work. On October 26th, 1985 Doc Brown tested his very first time machine with the help of his trust assistant Marty McFly. The experiment was a success and let Doc travel into the far future and even into the distant past. Now you can recreate that great moment in history when you wear this Doc Brown costume straight from the movie Back to the Future with this official costume. Holes will be drilled in your car! The Exterior features the aluminum rear vents with all the hoses and parts that should be there. The side pontoons are decorated with all the capacitors, grids, pipes and things similar to our photos. The flux bands that surround the car are mounted on rubber brackets and thick wire bundles are added along the sides of the car and mounted to the "flux boxes" which are mounted to the fenders, roof and rear. The rear window is removed and replaces with a sealed aluminum rear bulkhead. The rear will feature the infamous "Mr. Fusion", (Plutonium Chamber available for an extra fee) The interior will feature all the famous electronics seen in our photos and videos including the Flux Capacitor, Plutonium Gauges, Spectrum Analyzer, Time Drive Switch, Digital Speedometer and much more. Thick wire bundles are added along with many other high voltage parts on the dash, etc. *Fog Machine is optional as is extra battery/charging system.

These are some of the futuristic things that the Back To The Future 2 movie had:

1. Flying cars - I'm sorry but the traffic in my state is pretty crazy. If flying cars got in as many collisions as we have, we wouldn't have flying cars... instead, it would be raining cars! It might minimize hit and run car-to-person incidents though, as we do not have flying people yet.

2. The outfits are not there yet. In Back to the Future 2, ladies dress like superheroes. Aside from some celebrities, we would still get crazy looks on the street if we dressed like that.

3. Our boards are still on wheels, and they're still called skateboards. Kids still go to skate parks and use wax on cement to glide across. No hovering yet :(

4. Self Lacing Sneakers - I'm sorry, I really don't see the point. It's called Velcro people, and it's been invented since the 1970's I think.

5. Sadly, we will not receive a visit from Queen Diana, as the newspaper in the movie predicts.

6. Self serve gas stations? I guess they weren't considering Solar Powered or Electric.

7. Self Drying Jacket - I can see how this would come in handy, esp. for the kiddos

8. Hologram Movies - do hologram concerts count?

9. Hologram Ads - I ask again, hologram concerts?

10. Automatic Dog Walkers - these are VERY necessary!
Although our present is not anything like Back To The Future II, we still have so many technological advancements that would blow our minds if they were in the movie. Anything Apple, anything Google, anything NASA -- i'm sure I'm missing so many more things. So let's enjoy the day and enjoy our present because we know that the future will only look brighter from here!
